Origin: Kansas City, Missouri My super adorable friend, Avina, introduced me to this artist a couple of months ago, and I am so glad she did. I have to admit that while I am a huge Outkast fan, I did not see Idlewild (have the CD, but never saw the movie) or otherwise I would have known of Janelle sooner. I love the fact that she’s from Kansas City, which is close to Belton where my Grandmother is at. Goes to show that great music doesn’t just come out of St. Louis. Janelle’s songs are excellent and she has a superior vocal range. Plus, the girl can DANCE! Hot damn! She is a brilliant girl, with a real passion for life, music and charity. Also, I love how she themes her current albums in Asimov-esque worlds.
