They are a collective of talented outside of the box musicians, and it’s difficult for me to put them into any single genre because two of their songs can sound completely different from one another. They’re indie, they’re dancey, they’re punky (sometimes), they’re proggy… isn’t this why we invented the term ‘alternative rock’, to take care of this hip, new, non-conformist music? So yeah, that’s it. They’re alternative rock. The band’s name is pronounced ‘Chk Chk Chk’, in case you were wondering. I actually have to type that into google just to find the group, as !!! alone comes up with nothing. Though no one seemed to really be aware of this band just over a year ago when I discovered them, they suddenly seem to have hit peak acceleration to music infamy - !!! will be playing at the Ultra Music Festival here in Miami this weekend. Alternative Dance Rock, maybe? Thanks to David Byrne for taking an interest in !!!, which in turn brought them to my attention.
